Final Exam Description

Prepare a PowerPoint that includes the following slides:

  • Title: Clearly describes the investigation.

  • Purpose: Has a clearly defined purpose that reflects the testable question.

  • Background information: Gives a concise summary of the background information needed to understand the project. Should consist of, at least, 5 salient points.

  • Hypothesis: an if . . . then hypothesis is made, and a rationale is included. The hypothesis is based on the review of the literature.

  • Independent variable: clearly identifies the independent variable(s).

  • Dependent variable: clearly identifies the dependent variable and how it will be measured.

  • Procedure: explicitly stated, easy to follow, includes measurements in metric, exact amounts used, sufficient trials, disposal step

  • Materials list: all inclusive, includes measurements in metric, all materials and equipment used is listed

  • Reference List: There were at least 5 relevant sources, and at least one was a primary source.

  • Next step: give a time frame for experimentation (includes dates, time necessary for each step, etc)

  • PowerPoint Presentation: The presentation was well prepared, organized, and visually pleasing.

  • Oral Presentation: The presenter was well prepared, poised, articulate, and was able to answer questions successfully. Presentation was no longer than 5-7 minutes.
